My Review

Rating: 5 stars
I don't typically read horror stories, but I was intrigued by the "villain" in this story. Centipedes? That's something new.
Jersey Ghouls was captivating; I was drawn in from the first page and I couldn't read fast enough. There are several things going for this story:
  1. Developing storyline. Honestly, I didn't expect much reading in. I thought it'd be a city or town overrun with centipedes and then the heroes/heroines doing stuff to save the day. But it's more than that. The centipedes actually have a mission! (and more, but that's all I'm saying) And that takes things to a higher level.
  2. Unexpected heroes/heroines. Sure, we know about Hoff and his ex Beatrice, but that's because they're mentioned in the summary. But there are lots of unexpected heroes/heroines in the story, like the mother who sacrificed herself to protect her children, or Jessa. There are stories within each individual, and A.L. Sirois gave us a quick, deep glimpse into each.
  3. Great writing style. A.L. Sirois has an engaging style of writing, and the story is well-written and flows really well.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed reading Jersey Ghouls and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others. I can't wait to read other books by this author.
