Spine-tingling were-leopard fun
Leopardís Daughter is a markedly original crime novel with elements of the occult. In a world where vampires and werewolves exist, but are extremely rare, Bobby Sandar, his wife, Olivia, and their two oldest children are were-leopards. Bobby and Olivia are Secret Service agents. Following Bobbyís death, Olivia feels the need for a fresh start. She takes a job as a detective in the sheriffís department of a rural western county. Oliviaís first assignment is to go undercover as an exotic dancer in a nightclub run by gangsters. She has to battle mobbed-up criminals, a terrorist leader who is aware of Oliviaís history and abilities, and human traffickers to save her family and herself.

Excerpt

“Bud says to take her to the conference room,” Luccinni said. He hung up the phone. “He said to make sure she isn’t wearing a wire, and tie her up. He’ll be here as soon as he concludes his business downstairs with the A-Rab. It’ll take thirty to forty minutes.”
“Cal, you go in the conference room first,” said Luccinni, who seemed to be in charge. “Make sure you can see her at all times, and have your gun on her. You’ve seen her perform. You know how quick and strong she is. Colleen, you walk very slowly into the room. I’ll be right behind you, and I won’t hesitate to shoot. In fact, any sudden moves at all, and both of us will let you have it.”
When the three of them were in the conference room, Luccinni said, “Now take off your clothes. Move slowly.”
“Is this how you get your kicks?” Olivia asked as she started disrobing. She acted reluctant, but was relieved at the turn of events. Naked, she might be able to change before she got shot. It was extremely unlikely that any of the bullets were silver-plated. She knew she had to make her move before they could tie her up.
“This just makes it easy to see if you’re wearing a wire, babe,” Luccinni said, “but I got to admit, seeing you with no clothes is a bonus. Slide the duds over to Cal. He’ll check to make sure there’s no concealed wire.”
After examining Olivia’s clothes, Stevens said, “No wire here.” He looked her up and down and added, “Man, I wouldn’t mind getting a piece of that.”
“How about it, bitch?” Luccinni said. “You do us on the conference table, and we’ll try to convince the boss not to have you whacked after he’s done questioning you.”
“Sure, boys, sure,” Olivia said, even though she knew he was lying. “We can all be friends here. I’ll climb up on the table.”
“Move slow!” Luccinni commanded.
Olivia got on the table and lay on her back with her knees up and spread wide apart. The two men looked at each other, silently deciding the order in which they’d service her. Luccinni was the winner. He handed his gun to Stevens, unzipped himself revealing a full erection, and climbed on the table. He touched her nipples and genitals, and Olivia allowed herself to shiver. Luccinni grinned and prepared to mount her. As soon as he was poised over her body ready to begin penetration, Olivia changed. Luccinni jerked upward as he suddenly found himself looking into the snarling face of a leopard instead of an attractive woman. That was the final moment of his life. The leopard grasped his throat in her jaws and ripped. Blood spurted and Luccinni was dead.
Stevens stared in disbelief, momentarily unable to move. Then he opened fire, emptying his gun at the leopard, knocking her to the side, but unable to kill her. Stevens started for the door. The leopard leaped on Stevens’s back. She clamped her jaws on the back of his neck and crushed his spinal cord.
The leopard changed, and Olivia found herself on the floor on her hands and knees, breathing hard, feeling sore where the bullets had bounced off the leopard’s body. After about thirty seconds, she stood up and went over to Stevens. He was paralyzed from the neck down, but still alive. She found a couple of spare magazines on his body, loaded his gun, used one bullet to finish him off, and started down the stairs, not bothering to put on clothes.
